Deezer, Parisian music streaming service is coming soon offering packages from nothing to pay to £4.99 to then £9.99 a month to pay.

Its already made its mark in France with 20 million users and an array of artist-based radio stations, 30,000 in total.

It will be made available on PC, Mac, mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, IP TVs and various sound systems including the Sonos and Logitech Squeezebox.

Now, unlike competitor Spotify the service will also be launching a web-based version as a well as a mobile and desktop edition making it nearly impossible to not get enough of your favourite tune.

Can I see a BlackBerry in that photo?

Here’s what the managing director of Deezer UK had to say:

“We're extremely excited to be launching Deezer here in the UK. With easy access everywhere music fans will be able to enjoy music anywhere they like, at any time, and be able to share their music with their friends, easily and legally."

What’s my view?

I think depending on Deezer’s music library this could be pretty popular. What makes them different to Spotify is the extra addition of the web based version and the offering of the free version with a twist. Unlike Spotify, Deezer’s free edition to be called “Discovery mode” only offers the chance to listen to music in 30 second clips and various radio channels. Hmm, a bit mean. However on a positive, Deezer is offering another legal alternative to listening to on-demand music.
