Amazon Kindle Fire tablet set to launch tomorrow!

We’ve been waiting for Amazon’s Kindle tablet for some time now, but it’s launch could be just around the corner. The latest rumours claim the Amazon tablet will be called the Kindle Fire, and it could launch tomorrow. Join us after the break to find out more.

Although the Apple iPad has revolutionised the tablet market, we still have a soft spot for the Amazon Kindle. When it comes to reading eBooks, there’s genuinely nothing better – iPad included.

The e-ink display really is the best solution for prolonged reading, with genuine ink used and none of the harshness found on an LED screen. It’s easier on the eyes, and you’ll also find the Kindle better than tablet-based rivals when it comes to outside use.

So we can’t help wondering whether the next Kindle – reported to be called the Kindle Fire – will be such a big success. The biggest change for the Kindle Fire is the inclusion of a colour screen. There are some benefits – you’ll be able to read in the dark, for instance, and photographs will look much better, but is there anything then to differentiate the Kindle Fire from the rest of the tablets on the market?

It’s rumoured that Amazon used the BlackBerry Playbook when it comes to the design of the Kindle Fire, so you can expect similar dimensions and styling. Other specs are slightly more guarded.

One benefit the Kindle Fire will bring is the ability to check out online magazines, and Amazon has been working with publishers to bring out compatible content. Publishers Conde Nast are among the names reported to have signed distribution deals with Amazon, so there could be some great titles available.

Whether that’s enough to make the Kindle Fire as much of a success as the original Kindle remains to be seen, but we should know a lot more tomorrow.
