  • Spotify team up with Samsung to bring music to your TV.
  • Not exactly the most energy-efficient idea.
  • You will need a Samsung Smart TV and a Spotify Premium account.

Spotify, the popular music streaming service is getting bigger with the company linking up with firm, Samsung to bring the music service to your Samsung SMART TV. In addition to coming to televisions it will also make a move to Blu-ray players and home theatre systems.

Samsung is the first company to bring Spotify, what is considered a computer and mobile application to your TV.

Spotify commented on the development:

"The television is at the heart of most people's home entertainment experience, so it is a natural fit to make our music service available on internet-connected Smart TVs."

The app itself is free but you will also need to own a Samsung TV and be a Spotify Premium member which costs £9.99 a month.

The application will first hit the Samsung Series 7 and 8 television sets. Other Samsung Smart TVs will receive the app by the end of October.
