They’ve done it, Microsoft have officially confirmed what we can expect to see in the next edition of Windows and its very different to current OS, Windows 7 in terms of interface and feel. Microsoft have gone that little bit further and also made it user friendly for not just desktop and laptops but also tablets and televisions.

Plus, Windows 8 will run on ARM machines as well as the regular x86 PCs

Windows 7 did support touch as we know but now its been expanded on fully so now the whole OS is touch friendly unlike what we saw in the previous predecessor.

Now replacing the traditional Windows start menu is a start screen presenting the user with an array of live tiles which Windows Phone 7 users should be familiar with.

This is what Steven Sinofsky, president of Windows had to say about the new OS:

"We reimagined Windows," From the chipset to the user experience, Windows 8 brings a new range of capabilities without compromise."
