Microsoft have officially confirmed the release date for their shiny, new touchscreen OS. The company will release Windows 8 on the 26th October, the next operating system from Microsoft.
The usual October release date was confirmed by Steve Sinofsky, a Windows Leader at Microsoft’s annual sales meeting.
As I’ve previously posted users from existing Windows OS including XP, Vista and 7 will be able to make the transition to Windows 8 for a lower price of £25 through a download. Although users who do want an actual physical copy will have to fork out £40.
The guys at Microsoft do confirm though that they aim to make the upgrade process as straight-forward as possible by offering a Windows Upgrade Assistant, as done in Windows 7. The wizard will also include the option of transferring all of your files or not.
We’ve gone from Windows Phone 8 to Microsoft Surface Tablet and now Windows 8. A massively busy time for Microsoft but will you be making the upgrade? Let me know your thoughts 'in ‘Comments’.
