Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium special edition launched

The Leica D-Lux 5 has been on the market for a little while, and to spice things up high-end camera manufacturer Leica has released the D-Lux 5 Titanium edition. Finished in a new anodised dark silver colour, it looks fantastic, and also comes with a special edition case.

Most Leica camera look impressive, but the company has given its D-Lux 5 a makeover to freshen it up slightly. The new model – called the Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium, (somewhat predictably) gets a titanium coloured anodised chassis, and we want one!

You’ll get a stylish leather case that copies the shape of the Leica D-Lux 5, and there’s also a shoulder strap.

Other specifications are the same as the regular D-Lux 5. That means a 5.1-19.2mm f/2-3.3 ASPH lens, and a 10.1-megapixel CCD sensor. Measuring in at 1/1.63 inches, the sensor is larger than most compact cameras, resulting in more impressive low light performance.

The Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium even comes with Adobe’s Lightroom 3 software, so you’ll be able to get the best out of your photographs, and make major changes to RAW files.

Although not cheap, at £855, the D-Lux 5 Titanium is definitely more affordable than some of Leica’s other offerings, and would make a lovely addition to go alongside your D-SLR.
