Samsung Galaxy S3 64GB not cancelled, just delayed

Time for today’s post from elsewhere handpicked by me.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 with 32GB of internal memory has been out for a couple of months now, but what about the 64GB version? Contrary to reports, it’s still coming. It’s just been delayed until the “second half of this year”, claims Samsung.

The past 24 hours have seen rumours suggesting that Samsung has cancelled the premium 64GB Galaxy S3. Thankfully for gadget fans, that is not the case.

“The 64GB model of the Galaxy S3 will be available during the second half of this year,” a Samsung spokesperson confirmed to CNET UK.

When that will be, Samsung has yet to confirm, suggesting that timing will vary, with customers likely to be kept in the dark right up to release.

The delay follows a previous Galaxy S3 delay, where customers had to wait a little longer to get their hands on the Pebble Blue version of the Android smartphone. Some customers had to wait a month to receive theirs after pre-ordering the device in advance.

At least the Samsung Galaxy S3 is worth waiting for. Many have already tipped the smartphone as the phone of the year.

It has a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display, fast quad-core processor, will have up to 64GB storage, and offers plenty of features such as S-Voice for voice searching, and AllShare Cast, letting users beam videos andgames to a compatible Samsung television.

More Samsung goodness expected to arrive in the coming months, with the launch of a new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 rumoured for August – it’s another device that Samsung hopes will go toe-to-toe with the upcoming iPhone 5 from Apple.
