Trade in your Nintendo 3DS for a 3DS XL for just £80

I’m out of the office today but here’s your Tech fix for today though.

The Nintendo 3DS XL hits the shops on July 28th with a display up to 90 percent larger than the original 3DS. Those wanting to make the upgrade can now do so on the cheap, by trading in their old 3DS at GAME to buy a 3DS XL for just £80.

Video game retail store GAME stocks a number of Nintendo 3DS XL models in blue, silver and red. To purchase one would usually cost Nintendo fans £174.99.

As upgrades go, it’s a bit on the pricey side for most, but those willing to trade in their old 3DS will get the 3DS XL for just £80, and get an AC Adaptor thrown in. That’s a saving of £95, without having to fork out extra for a charger.

Typically the 3DS XL does not come with a charger, making the above offer all the more enticing. But is it worth it? In a nutshell, yes.

In our Nintendo 3DS XL review we praised its larger screen that brings Nintendo’s 3DS games to life on a display that makes it easier to see all of the action. And we loved its longer battery life.

The recommended retail price might be high for an upgrade, but thanks to GAME, upgrading just became worth it.
