Speak to a friend on Skype whilst playing a game

image

Skype has just popped onto the Windows Phone Marketplace and now onto the PS Vita. It comes as a free app letting you make and receive calls over either a 3G or Wi-Fi connection during gameplay or not.

The magic uses the built-in microphone and camera to make you seen and heard. Excited now? Well, there’s more. A brand new feature which is even more cool and that is called background mode.

When playing a game press the PS button and do two things at once, you will also be notified of an incoming call making it impossible to miss one.

Skype’s promise to you

Plus, Skype’s promises to provide updates and upgrades to the Skype PS Vita app future proofing this little application.

Manrique Brenes, senior director of consumer electronics group at Skype explains to gaming website, Polygon:

“With the launch of Skype for PS Vita, we are taking another step towards our ultimate goal of making Skype video calling available on every platform, all over the world, and meeting the demands of existing PlayStation users to offer video on a gaming console.”

Skype for PS Vita is available to download right now so what are you waiting for?
