Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 set for quad-core boost!

Good news and bad news. The bad news: Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 production has reportedly stopped. The good news: so that it can be upgraded with a faster quad-core processor! The faster, revised edition, codenamed “Espresso, shouldn’t have any impact on its release date. Read on to find out about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.

The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 was announced at MWC 2012. Back then the Android 4.0 tablet was quoted to have a 1GHz dual-core processor. That seems to be no longer the case.

Reports from Korea say that production has stopped so that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 can be souped up with a better quad-core CPU. The codename “Espresso” has been given to the revised tablet, which tells you all you need to know. A faster, better Galaxy Tab 2 10.1? Yes please.

Naturally specific details are still thin on the ground, but if Samsung can pull it off without affecting the tablets scheduled May 13 release then pats on backs all round. Even if it does, an upgraded CPU should still be worth the wait.

As first revealed at MWC 2012 back in February those other specs include: Android 4.0, 16GB and 32GB models available in both Wi-Fi and 3G variants. But it’s that faster processor that has got us most excited, suddenly propelling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 near the top of our most-wanted tablets list.
