New budget smartphone from Nokia launches called the 500

Nokia are getting fierce and are taking on HTC’s Wildfire with their first new smartphone to feature new OS, Symbian Anna and no letters in its name!

Featured on the 500 is a 1GHz processor, a 3.2 touchscreen and a 640x360 pixel resolution, a 5Mp camera, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G and HSUPA, Wi-FI and 2GB of integrated storage with room for 32GB extra with the purchase of a microSD card.

The downs are the exclusion of Nokia CBD technology and a pretty average camera offered by Nokia.

Price excluding taxes is €150.

What’s my view?

Good specs at a good price. Some that stand out to me are the inclusion of a 1GHz processor and a 3.2 inch touchscreen. We’re all wanting big screens today to watch and listen to multimedia on the move which the Nokia 500 brings. Whether it can take on Android is yet another question.
