Firefox redesigned, is it true?

Posted on to the Internet are some Firefox design mock ups submitted by a Mozilla designer. The question is, are Mozilla following in Chrome and Safari’s footsteps?

Note that these ideas were created for internal uses only however there’s no harm guessing what might never happen.

No search toolbar, just an address bar. What do you think?

Firefox have not just learnt from Chrome but also Apple with rounded edged tabs, yeah that’s a Chrome idea; silver translucent toolbars and boxes which is an Apple idea!

Also, Firefox don’t like clutter as we see below and have instead popped the buttons neatly away in a box which can easily be accessed by a click of the settings button.image

These may never come true but what these mock-ups do prove is that Mozilla’s aim for the future is less clutter and a more cleaner feel to the Firefox browser.

Below are some browser stats for July:

  • Google Chrome – 22.1% users, up 2% in comparison to June.
  • Firefox – 22% of users, oh so close.
  • Safari – 9% of users.
  • Internet Explorer – 45% of users fallen by 2% compared to June.
