Bad 3G coverage exposed by the BBC

Update.

The BBC undertook a survey around a month ago which tested 3G reception out and about around the UK. All you had to do was own an Android smartphone and download an app which was later criticised for eating up your juice. The makers, Epitiro later threw out a hotfix update to remove that minor issue.

Mobile operators claim that 90% of us living in the UK can receive and enjoy a 3G signal but the survey proved that the 44,600 people taking part were only able to grab a 3G signal 75% of the time on average. Note that some parts of the UK were missing which didn’t exactly make the data sound. However, it goes without saying that the UK are useless at grabbing a 3G signal because when you look at countries like America who enjoy 3G reception and the big brother, 4G it just makes you wonder.

Check out your area now on the BBC interactive map!
