Windows Phone 8 is launched

Today Microsoft from San Francisco launched Windows Phone 8, which Nokia, HTC and Samsung are all part of.

The new OS will contain more than 120,000 apps.

Plus, Windows Phone now comes available in 50 languages with apps available in a total of 191 countries.

The new OS comes with the popular live tiles and a new feature. Today, Microsoft announced Live Apps also powering the lock screen.

Apps are going with the new OS

Microsoft are certainly upping their game app wise in the new OS. The latest partnerships taking place are Microsoft and Facebook allowing users to showcase their photos on the lock screen.

In addition there is a new version of Twitter especially for Windows Phone 8 as well as a new Skype edition.

There is also a treat for music lovers in the new OS, Microsoft have announced that Pandora will arrive on Windows Phone 8 in 2013 bringing a whole load of free music and with no ads.

Also, there is a new feature called Data Sense making sure users never run out of data. This lets people enjoy the Internet more whilst using less data. Data sense compresses the web data finding the nearest WiFi hotspots.

Microsoft claim that users will receive 45% more web browsing whilst on their same data plan.
