LOVEFiLM comes to LG Smart TVs

In the continuing battle between LOVEFiLM and Netflix, LOVEFiLM, has announced that its film and TV subscription streaming is coming to LG Smart TVs.

The good news for LG Smart TV owners is that it will be the first time that LG’s internet tellys will feature a dedicated film and TV application, giving more movie lovers the chance to catch some of the latest films and television shows.

LG Smart TV owners will gain access to thousands of film and television shows from a a library, that thanks to the increased competition from rival Netflix will only get bigger.

Film and television delights available from launch will include Batman sequel The Dark Knight, bumbling over-the-top comedy The Hangover and television series including Terminator Salvation.

Upcoming movies to look out for are Source Code, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, and animated move Gnomeo & Juliet. Members will be able to manage their rental lists, rate movies and read reviews from fellow film fanatics and aspiring Roger Eberts.

The latest move by LOVEFiLM follows its deal a couple of days ago to bring ABC TV shows from the US to the UK, with full episodes such as Lost, Desperate Housewives and more on the way.

LOVEFiLM recently introduced an unlimited streaming-only package starting from £4.99. LG TVs aren’t the only service viewers can receive LOVEFiLM. The service is also available on Xbox 360, PS3 and computers.
