Petrol or pedal power from the Derringer Cycle

image

Like the idea of cyling to work but just can’t be bothered pedaling up the bigger hills? The Derringer Cycle could be the perfect solution, packing a 50cc engine into its frame so you’ll no longer be stuck behind the local bus.

The retro design of the Derringer Cycle looks like something out of the 1920s, more motorbike that regular push bike. It does feature pedals, however, so you will be able to get a good workout on the daily commute.

We’d imagine it would be quite a strenuous workout as well, as with a 50cc engine and a petrol tank behind the handlebars, it’s not likely to be a lightweight option!

It does look like a piece of art, however, which is backed by the $3500 price tag. On the plus side, if you decide to opt for petrol power, you’ll get a staggering 180 miles to the gallon, with a respectable top speed of 35mph – perfect for the inner-city commute.
