Siri security cracked: Could now appear on other gadgets

A team of tech experts have cracked the security controls of the Apple iPhone 4S, in a move that could see the Apple voice assistant spread to more gadgets.

Ever since we first tried Siri on an Apple iPhone 4S, we’ve been wanting to get hold of the tech on our iPhone 4. A new hack could see Siri appearing on a lot more platforms than just the iPhone, however.

Appllidium, the code-cracking team behind it have not only managed to crack Siri, but also lay down a collection of tools that could help others bring the service to other platforms. Siri on Android, anyone?

At the moment nobody from Appllidium appears to have used the code to transplant Siri to other gadgets, but you can be sure that there will be plenty willing to try, before Apple attempts to ban the practice.

Just recently it was revealed why Siri will only work on the iPhone 4S, and not other Apple iPhone devices. The iPhone 4s uses a constantly active proximity sensor – something not present in older iPhone 4 models.
