Nintendo 3DS System Update set for December 8th

image

The Nintendo 3DS seems to be fairing well at the moment. The arrival of Mario Karts has finally seen an upturn in sales figures and for those who already own the handheld you’ll be glad to know an official software update is coming on 8th December, so not long to wait.

Nintendo has released details of the next system update for the Nintendo 3DS, which is going through the final phases of internal testing before it starts to be pushed out to handhelds around the world from 8th December.

Rather oddly, the company posted that ‘We will provide an additional update once the system update is officially available.’ No, we’re not too sure what this means either, but it sounds like an update to the update will be coming in due course.

The good news, apart from adding greater stability to the firmware for the Nintendo 3DS, are the new features the update will be bringing with it. For starters, you’ll be able to use the Nintendo 3DS camera to actually take 3D video recordings, which sounds like a great win to us.

What’s more, once the update is in place, you’ll be able to transfer downloaded software and data between Nintendo 3DS devices, so that should make backing up your stuff a whole lot easier. Finally, you can expect new game content StreetPass Mii Plaza, including Find Mii II. No further details are know about any more additional content at this stage.
