Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime details revealed, coming this December

More details have emerged of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime – the powerful quad-core tablet that, thanks to an attachable dock can pretend it’s a laptop. Now, along with a release date and price, plenty more Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime details have been revealed.

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is one of the more exciting tablet computers to sneak up on the year’s end, combining high specs, and the ability to transform itself into a laptop.

The gist of those high-end specs include a powerful quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, high definition video playback, and a full-sized SD card slot.

Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime owners will be able to make video calls using its 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera. A staggering 18-hour battery life when the tablet is coupled with the dock means that even heavy users will be able to leave the charger at home, once the tablet is fully juiced up.

The Transformer Prime will not ship with the latest Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, although the update is expected to arrive before the year’s end, with Asus having a good track record when it comes to updating the older Eee Pad Transfomer.

In the U.S, prices will start at $499 for a 32GB model, and $599 for a 64GB Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime. Both will be available in the U.S this December. And hopefully in the UK soon after.
