Toshiba Satellite P885 glasses-free 3D makes your laptop go pop

Glasses-free tech seems to be catching on. The latest victim of this tech craze is the Toshiba Satellite P585, which eliminates the need to wear dodgy 3D specs to see images come at you. If you don’t care about 3D, there’s a lot more to the Toshiba Satellite P885. It boasts HD skills, Harman Kardon speakers and more.

But let’s be honest. It’s still the glasses-free 3D we’re really intrigued about. The Toshiba Satellite P585 is the first in the series to boast such glasses-free 3D tech. The technology still has a long way to go to convince many of its worth.

Take the Nintendo 3DS for example. Its own glasses-free 3D screen performs well at times. At others, it just hurts our eyes. To fall back on, the 156-inch Toshiba Satellite P585 boasts a HD screen, the Harmon Kardon speakers we mentioned, an intel iSeries processor, NVIDIA 630 GT graphics card and DDR3 memory.

On top of all that the well-specced laptop has a Blu-ray optical drive and up to a 1GB hard-drive. Connectivity options include HDMI out, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 3.0 outputs. So even if the 3D effect isn’t to your liking, you’ll still be getting a well-stacked laptop that’s part of a well-established range.

The Toshiba Satellite P885 hits the shops in the second quarter of 2012 for £599. Have you tried glasses-free tech? Let us know whether you’re ready to ditch the specs, and if you believe there is a space for 3D entertainment.
