GAME Group enters administration, stores begin closure

image

GAME retail stores across the country appear to have closed their doors for the last time following the GAME Group entering administration. Over the last week, administration has looked the likely option for one of the UK’s most recognisable high street stores. Now, following administration, around 300 of the UK’s 609 GAME and Gamestation stores will cease trading immediately. Many already have.

More will follow unless a buy is not found quickly. The situation is of course still developing, but it appears that stores across the country have been affected, with stores from Croydon to York having already closed.

As it stands a number of stores will remain open, but it isn’t yet known how long for. Those with GAME reward points and Reward Cards will not be able to use them. All reward points have been suspended.

As MCV report refunds and exchange are not being given, although customers will still be able to buy pre-owned products from the stores that remain open. Customers will not be able to trade in pre-owned hardware or software.
