The iPad 3 has just recently been launched  and triumphing with 3 million of them being sold in just the first weekend of sales. Evidence sourced from Ars Technica suggests that Apple’s tablet and iPhone might not be the only device to get hold of a retina display.

The website claims that this is implied by the larger than normal icons on the new Mountain Lion OS. Plus, Apple iChat’s own little icon is no longer little as a well as an increase spotted in resolution all pointing to a new, retina display.

Apple's iPad 3 will launch with a built-in retina display coming in at a resolution of 2048x1536 bringing a brighter, sharper and clearer display to the portable computer. An added benefit is that despite the retina displays users will still not lose out on any juice. This in addition suggests that it will mean the same for the MacBook.
