Facebook Messenger hits Windows

image

Facebook Messenger for Windows has finally gone official, letting Windows using Facebook fans chat using a desktop client. It means you won’t have to visit the Facebook website to get your chat on. It comes with all the bells and whistles of the main version, with extra convenience. We can also look forward to a Mac version later this year. More this way.

Facebook Messenger acts as a standalone app for Windows 7 PC users, letting users chat away without needing to visit Facebook.com. It means users won’t be forced to use chat with their friend feed and news updates getting in the way.

Facebook Messenger also makes it easier to multitask between chatting with friends and other tasks, and dare we say it: stealth Facebook chat in the office when the boss isn’t looking.

Just like the default website version, Facebook Messenger for Windows brings notifications and friend status updates. Apple-loving Mac owners need not feel left out. Facebook Messenger for Mac will arrive in the near future, says Facebook.
