HTC One S pre-orders pop up ahead of 5th April launch

The HTC One S is the mid-level buddy of the amazing HTC One X that was announced at the recent Mobile World Congress 2012 back in February. We know it’s coming out on 5th April, courtesy of a memo from O2, and it seems pre-orders are now being taken.

The HTC One S is set to be one of the slimmer 4.3-inch smartphones hitting the shops this season, courtesy of its ceramic metal body and super-thin 7.6mm depth. This Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich little number comes with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and will also pack in the now pretty standard Beat Audio from HTC to round out an impressive tech spec.

We know it’s coming out on 5th April, along with the quad-core powerhouse that is the HTC One X, which is expected to sell for around the £500 mark. However, if your budget doesn’t quite stretch that far, the pre-orders popping up for the HTC One S seem to suggest you’ll be able to get this model for considerably less.

The most obvious early pre-order comes from Amazon, who are letting the HTC One S go for £440, which is a nice little saving in our books, while the guys over at Clove seem to be a little more expensive with a £450 (inc. VAT) price for the same smartphone in Black.

Slap bang in the middle is Expansys with a price of £445 (inc. VAT), so we’re hoping that once it actually hits the streets we’ll start to see prices creeping down even further. In the meantime, if you want to be the first off the blocks with this monster of a smartphone then you know where to check it out.
