Asus Eee PC Flare 1025C: pre-order this stylish budget netbook

Looking for a cheap computer that won’t break the bank? You’d do well to wait for the Asus Eee PC Flare 1025C. The 10-inch netbook has just gone up for pre-order over on online store Amazon, available in black and white and with decent enough specs to get things done on-the-move. The Asus EE PC Flare 1025C is also the first in Asus’ range to use its new “Flare” design. Still interested? Then read on…

The Asus Eee PC Flare 1025C has yet to hit the UK Amazon store, but for an early peek, head over to Amazon.com, where can now pre-order the 10-inch netbook at a cost of just $299.99.

Converted into English pounds that comes in at around just £190. For that price you’ll be getting a very portable 10.1-inch netbook packing a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N2600 dual-core processor and a 320GB Solid State Drive. Battery life comes in at an impressive 12.5 hours. Plenty of time for use on long trips.

Its new Flare design is a welcome change from Asus notebooks of old. Note the increase in curves, and the metallic side panels giving the Asus Eee PC Flare 1025C more of a premium look than past Asus notebooks.

There is of course an argument that notebooks are being overshadowed by more powerful ultrabooks. Ultrabooks such as the Dell XPS 13 and the Samsung Series are the next big thing in small computing: combining PC-matching specs inside razor-thin laptops. Albeit at a higher price.

But for something a little more cheap and cheerful the Asus Eee PC Flare 1025C could be worth your consideration.
