Peli iKeyboard turns iPad into Eee Pad Transformer rival!

The Peli iKeyboard lets you turn your Apple iPad into a proper Asus Eee Pad Transformer rival. Covering the bottom half of your iPad’s screen, it provides a tactile means of typing, without compromising on portability. Read on to find out more.

There’s no real technology involved in the Peli iKeyboard – it’s literally just a roll of silicone – but it could transform the way you use your Apple iPad.

The silicone is flexible, thin and lightweight, and you’ll either be able to leave it attached to your iPad when you put it away, or you’ll be able to roll it up and carry it separately.

It fits over the lower half of your Apple iPad, and there are holes cut in the silicone to replicate the QWERTY keypad. This means you’ll still be touch typing on the display itself – so it won’t move under pressure or offer quite the same feedback as a proper keyboard – but this is one big benefit.

Because the silicone layer surrounds each of the keys entirely, you’ll be able to feel the very edges of each key, which should help touch typers to type at speed with more accuracy.

It’s unlikely to suit all users, but at $6 it’s worth trying!
