PlayStation Vita sells over 300k in two days, early problems now fixed

The Sony PlayStation Vita finally went on sale in Japan, just two days ago. So, how’s it doing? The good news is that sales of the PlayStation Vita are doing well, with similar higher sales than the original PSP, but not quite as well as the Nintendo 3DS did in its first two days.

Meanwhile, PlayStation Vita owners have been complaining of the new console freezing. Thankfully Sony have been quick to act. Can UK owners expect the same problems when it releases here?

Firstly, sales. Figures released from Japan reveal that the PlayStation Vita sold more than the original PSP, but over 58k less than Nintendo’s newest handheld. However, there’s still plenty of time for the PlayStation Vita to get in the hands of new owners.

However the PlayStation Vita’s early days haven’t quite gone to plan. Some early owners have been complaining about the console freezing up, locking players out of the console and having to switch off to reboot.

Thankfully Sony has been quick to react, issuing an apology and a software update to fix the early teething problems, which can happen with new gadgets, and sometimes the latest games. UK Christmas chart topper The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has infamously had its share of bugs.

PlayStation Vita launches in the UK on 22nd February 2012, so hopefully by then, any early problems will be patched up. Launch day will see some great PlayStation Vita games hit the shelves including Uncharted: Golden Abyss, WipEout 2048 and Motorstorm RC.

Other scheduled releases include: Ninja Gaiden, Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom, Street Fighter X Tekken and BioShock.
