CES 2013: What happened in Day 1

Hi there! The Daily Tech Review returns for a New Year and what better way to kick it off with CES 2013, the largest consumer electronics show in the world.

Here in a bullet pointed list is what happened today on Day 1:

  • Samsung announced some new tech, one being the HW-F750 sound-bar which comes with two world firsts including connectivity to your television and an integrated amplifier all on board. On top of that, they guys at Samsung also announced a wireless Bluetooth speaker, a brand new home theatre package including multi-directional speakers and a 4K processor plus a Blu-ray player.

  • An Android tablet providing TV on the move was next on display from RCA. The DMT580D comes with dual TV tuner.
  • Now, Google TV and 2013 is going to see it getting even bigger. ASUS, Hisense and TCL will unveil all Google TV devices during this week.
  • Now back to more tablet news with ASUS who are expected to unveil a 10-inch tablet which is said to come with a 10.1-inch screen, Jelly Bean 4.1 and a Tegra 3 processor.
  • Now we are talking about Gorilla Glass. Today saw the third generation of Gorllia Glass revealed packing in three times more scratch resistance technology and a longer shelf-life.
  • LG reveal plans for a new super-thin smartphones one that could be called the Optimus G2 arriving with a full HD display and 440 ppi.
  • Now onto Microsoft where Sweden Tobbi Technology discussed brand new eye-tracking technology for Windows 8. It is designed to work with all of your regular peripherals with the extra option of controlling the OS with your eyes.

Also, Samsung has attendees on their edge.

  • LG announce their Hecto projection system, Hecto 100-inch Laser TV packed with 1080p full HD images, 3 HDMI ports, Smart TV and Digital TV also packed in. The bulbs in the projector itself should give you 25,000 hours viewing before having to replace them.
  • Samsung announce Series 7 laptops include the SC770 Touch screen Monitor and the no-touch SC750. Also, on the way this week is an enhanced Series 7 Chronos and the first Ultrabook for the new family.
  • LG are dishing out some new Google TV sets ranging from 42 inches to 60. The GA7900 will come in 47 and 55 versions though unlike the GA6400.
  • Google are also pairing up with Polaroid with some interchangeable lens.
  • Back to Samsung and now talking about flexible displays. Samsung reps confirmed to CNET that on the way is a 5.5inch flexible display packing in 720p HD display and 267 pixels.
  • Huaewi have confirmed two new phones, the Ascend W1 and Ascend D2 packing specs of 1080p display, a quad-core processor, 1.5GHz processor and a 13Mp snapper.
  • Samsung unveil a 110-inch Ultra HD TV screen.
  • A 110-inch 4K LED TV.
  • HTC announced two new smartphones, Droid DNA and HTC One X+.
  • Intel is preparing some new tablet chips.
  • The Samsung Galaxy S4 will pack in Full HD Super AMOLED tech.
  • The Huawei Ascend W1 gets hold of Windows Phone 8.
  • Samsung are oddly looking to rebrand.
  • Intel announces another mobile processor – more on this soon.
  • Tegra 4 arrives with expected speeds of 1.8GHz looking to surface.
  • LG unveils Smart TV working on the back of HP’s webOS.
