CES 2013: What happened in Day 2

Hi there! The Daily Tech Review returns for a New Year and what better way to kick it off with CES 2013, the largest consumer electronics show in the world.

LG unveiled a brand new Google Smart TV

There is seven in total on the way in 2013, up first is this one taking the name of the GA7900 offering a Bluetooth remote with a keyboard on its back (that is something I would love to see). Also, there is no need to change a channel by touching the remote control just shout at the TV. Built in voice control.

Panasonic are up next with their intelligent Smart TV

CES attendees got treated to Panasonic’s clever smart television called the ZT60. It packs in a web browser, three HDMI ports and three USB ports, wireless LAN and Panasonic’s very own Viera screen technology.

Also, expect a 1080p res, 2D-3D conversion and active shutter 3D.

It should be available next month however no word on release dates or pricing.

The Huawei Ascend D2

This smartphone was also on show at CES, a pricy smartphone hoping to go into battle with some of the big guys in the smartphone industry packing in a 1.5GHz processor, a 13Mp snapper and 1080p display weight 170g.

Disappointment from Samsung with the Ativ Odyssey

Many were expecting much more from this phone. Instead its much more smaller, compact phone.

Camera round-up

  • Nikon have bought out a new lens for the Nikon 1 and two new digital cameras.
  • Fujiflim have unveiled four new bridge cameras, also the X range is expanded as well as their tough and travel range.
  • Panasonic bring out a few new compact cameras and a 35x bridge camera.
  • Olympus launch some new tough and high zooming cameras.
  • Sony at CES 2013 refresh their camera line-up updating zoom and adding Wi-Fi to some models.
  • Samsung bring out a range of new ‘smart’ cameras and the NX300 Wi-Fi enabled CSC camea.
  • Sigma unveil a massive 46MP DP3 compact camera.

And,

  • Pentax release a new high-end compact camera.

 

Oculus Rift

Virtual gaming is given an update with the Oculus Rift headset, the most advanced yet.
