YouView are being sued over their name

Lord Alan Sugar’s YouView are facing being sued over choosing a name too similar to another brand.

The company, Total Ltd own the trademark Your View and claim that the two are too alike and should be changed.

This month YouView lost a court appeal, Total Ltd have now taken it further and plan to sue the company.

Total Ltd request YouView to change its name however they are afraid that doing this will decrease sales losing Lord Alan Sugar and associates money.

YouView has had it tough indeed, a delayed launch, a Court Appeal and now they face being sued.

A statement has been issued where YouView state that they have “no intention of changing its name”. However, if Total Ltd pursue their sue YouView could be in trouble.
