Razor thin new iMac on sale on Friday!

I’m out of the office today but here’s today’s daily Tech fix.

Amidst all of the iPad mini hype, it’s been easy to overlook all the other amazing gizmos Apple outed at the same time as its titchy new tablet. Now another of them is set to go on sale very soon: that wafer thin new iMac hits stores starting this Friday.

Starting on 30 November – or Wii U launch day in the gadget fiend’s diary – you can pick up one of the new 21.5-inch iMacs that measures just 5mm thin at the edges. The larger will go on sale at Apple’s online store then also, with delivery in December.

Along with a waifish new look, the new iMac models pack some serious kit under the bonnet. There’s up to 8GB of memory, as well as your choice of the latest Intel Core i5 or i7 super speed processor. Then there’s Apple’s smart Fusion Drive, which keeps important files on a fast 128GB solid state drive, and everything else on the slower (but much larger) 1TB hard drive.

The 21.5-inch new iMac starts at £1,099, while the 27-inch model kicks off at £1,499. We’ll have a full review for you soon,
