HTC Deluxe: The full HD Android phone bound for the UK

I’m out of the office today but here’s today’s daily Tech fix.

The HTC Deluxe is a name you might be hearing a lot about in the coming weeks and months: according to a site with a track record of leaking phones ahead of launch, this here bad boy is the global version of the stunning Droid DNA announced this week for the US. Will this be the first full HD smartphone to hit the UK?

Evleaks, which correctly leaked press images of both the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 a couple of months ago, is back again, this time with the picture you see above of the “HTC Deluxe”, the European and worldwide version of the Droid DNA or HTC J Butterfly as it’s known in Japan.

That means we can expect the HTC Deluxe to pack a five inch 1080p HD screen, far sharper than anything else on the market, as well as 4G and a quad-core processor, and give both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 a run for their money.

As for when we’ll see this phone, it’s anybody’s guess. HTC has only just launched the stunning One X+ in the UK, and it’s getting very close to Christmas now to launch anything big. Might we have to wait until February, when HTC traditionally outs its new wares for the year, to see the official arrival of the HTC Deluxe? We’ll keep you posted – this is one iPhone 5 killer to watch.
