iPhone 5: UK sale date revealed!

Time for today’s post from elsewhere handpicked by me.

iPhone 5: UK sale date revealed!

We’re expecting to see the iPhone 5 get a full reveal at Apple’s press conference in San Francisco on Wednesday evening, but another piece of the puzzle has already fallen into place. Sources have revealed the exact date you’ll be able to buy Apple’s primed new smartphone – and it’s soon, too.

According to Mobile News’ sources, the iPhone 5 will go on sale in the UK (and US) on Friday 21 September, just a week and a half after the big reveal. Apple stores will get a one day head start, with other major retailers stocking the iPhone 5 from 22 September.

Based on Apple’s previous track record, that seems spot on: Apple often releases new iPhone models on a Friday a fortnight or so after its first announcement. Of course, what we don’t know still is what to expect from the iPhone 5. Rumours suggest it’ll pack a larger 4-inch screen, thinner body and smaller docking port, but we still don’t know for sure.
