Window Phone users, great news! Vimeo has finally released an app just for you, available for free on the Windows Marketplace. It’s no stripped down version, either – letting you do all the HD video uploading, browsing and sharing that you would on the desktop site. Read on to learn more about what the YouTube alternative can do on Windows Phone…

As the Windows Marketplace continues to grow, boosted by new Windows Phone launches such as the Nokia Lumia 900, users of Windows Phones can expect plenty more great apps like this Vimeo app.

The official Vimeo app looks to have all the necessary tools to to even stave users off the desktop version by integrating with existing accounts. From a Windows Phone, Vimeo users are able to upload HD video, browse others, search for the latest clips, and check how many eyes have seen their latest mobile masterpiece.

The usual caboodle of social features are included. Users can like, comment on videos and queue some for later viewing. And yes, of course you’ll be able to share yours and others videos via Facebook, Twitter, email or SMS straight from the app. Design-wise, the Vimeo app takes its cue from official Windows Phone apps, in that menus are easy to navigate.

It seems there’s been a lot going on at Vimeo. The video-sharing site has also been revealing its latest desktop site overhaul, introducing improved ways to view video and de-cluttering on-screen settings. Users can upload more than one file at a time, while the Inbox now doubles up as your your news feed, saving you the time from flitting between both.
