We’re back and are bringing you all the news from Spain throughout the week on the Mobile World Congress 2012
Sony have indeed got rid of the ‘Ericsson’ bit of its name and here comes the newly named Xperia U formerly known as the Sony Kumquat. It also the first ever phone to launch with the new name. Its an Android one and comes with a 3.5-inch screen, a 5Mp snapper and video recording of up to 720p HD.
Underneath comes a 1GHz dual-core processor and also makes use of Sony’s very own Mobile Bravia engine boosting up the picture quality during video playback.
However, its not trying to be a top notch smartphone meaning users will not benefit from the sparkling new Android 4.0 OS but instead 2.3.
The smartphone will jump onto the market in black, yellow and pink versions all to choose from.
