New Internet and Apple compatible Roberts Radio

New cheap, portable, internet radio from Roberts.

The Roberts Stream 105  internet radio connects through Wi-Fi to bring you a choice of stations to listen to. The radio is also compatible with your Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and any other device with a 3.5mm socket.

Its portable, lets you listen to BBC podcasts and allows you to listen to your favourite music on your mp3 player, iPhone or iPod Touch and so on.

The Stream 105 comes with 10 presets and 2 alarm timers (note that it needs to be connected to the mains to wake you up though) however if the Internet is down you won’t get woken up by your desired radio station but instead by an annoying buzzer. At least you won’t be late!

Its available now for just £100 and is Robert’s cheapest Wi-Fi radio yet.

What’s my view?

When I first heard about it I thought yeah this will be fantastic however after a little more research I think its a waste of money. Yes its a bargain and provides some handy features such a 3.5mm socket, a headphone port to listen to your music in private and the feature of listening to BBC podcasts on the go. Ok, they’re all good but if you are out and about you are likely to lose Wi-Fi connection and with no FM or DAB installed you will have to revert to missing your favourite radio programme and listening to your own music instead. Not good! The hassle of connecting it to the mains to wake you up in the morning is also a negative. Apart from that its all good!
