First Windows ‘Mango’ smartphone is revealed

We first heard about Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone OS codenamed ‘Mango’ a while back and now the first ever Mango smartphone was revealed this morning with manufacturer Fujitsu Toshiba behind it. The smartphone is expected to come to Japanese stores this coming September. However, the bad news is that its not heading to the US.

Tokyo launch of the first Windows Mango smartphone.

Below are 3 out of the five hundred new features loaded in the next Windows Phone OS:

  • Multi tasking

  • Group feature built to work together with the two popular social networking sites, Facebook and Twitter.

  • Voice recognition

The smartphone itself also has a load of features to boast about:

  • claims to be Water and dust proof

  • 32GB of storage

  • An amazing 13.2Mp camera

  • 1GHz Snapdragon processor

  • Microsoft office

  • access to SkyDrive, Microsoft's cloud service.

Along with Toshiba many other manufacturers are also getting ready for Mango such as:

  • Nokia

  • HTC

  • Samsung

  • LG

  • ZTE

Prices not yet announced.

What’s my view?

I think it all sounds good but whether it will be able to beat Apple and Google (Android) is another question. Microsoft have tried, the 500 new features tell us that so we will just have to wait for the release and see how it stands among the rest.
