New Apple MacBook range

New MacBook Air laptops to come in 13 and 11 inch models. All receiving Intel Core i5 and i7 processors. Furthermore, Apple have thrown in a backlit keyboard and Thunderbolt ports.

Details on the updated Mac Mini range

Apple revealed today that the new and revamped Mini range will come loaded with Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors, AMD Radeon HD graphics card and to top it off the new OS X Lion. Additionally, The Mac Mini will also receive built in Thunderbolt ports.

New Display Screen on offer from Apple

Want a larger screen? Apple’s providing it for you in addition to your Mac Mini and MacBook Pro. The new monitor called the Apple Thunderbolt Display will measure 27 inches and a offer 16: 9 aspect ratio. The new screen also comes with Gigabit Ethernet, Firewire 800 and a few USB 2.0 ports.

Now, Thunderbolt could make this screen stand out from the rest. I say this because by using the new technology there won’t be a need for those annoying and long cables. Thunderbolt lets you just use one cable and gives you the added ability to transmit audio and video signals to the display. This monitor will cost £899, not cheap but are Apple products ever at a reasonable price? It goes on sale in two months time.

What’s my view?

All good but expensive products on offer if you are an Apple fan. A few features that stand out from the crowd are Thunderbolt and Mission Control. These sound like they could come in handy at some time. Another thing that I do like about Apple is backlighting, this is so useful on a laptop especially when you’re in a dark room and need to use a computer but can’t see the keyboard! Those are just a few to highlight there are many and due to the price you pay for an Apple product one would hope you can expect an excellent and reliable purchase.
