New Asus Transformer Prime TF700 laptop out this summer

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet that thinks it’s a laptop may have only recently gone on sale, yet already a successor has been announced. That said, we will have to wait until the summer before we can get our hands on it.

The new model, cunning called the Asus Transformer Prime TF700, adds a handful of improvements on the original model, including a better display and camera.

That news may be greeted with mixed feelings by those that have already ordered or received the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime. A UK price has not been confirmed, but the cost of the new model is expected to be around £599.

For that price the new customers would be getting an Asus Eee Transformer TF700 with a fancy-looking metallic finish, full HD Super IPS+ panel suitable for outdoor reading, and an improved 1920×1200 resolution.

Lurking beneath the metallic chassis will be a quad core Tegra 3 processor, 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, USB ports, micro SD and SD card slots and the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

The Asus Transformer Prime TF700 is not expected to be released till June in the U.S at the earliest. As soon as a UK date and price are revealed, we will let you know. Those planning their next tablet purchase may want to bide their time.
