Huawei Ascend D quad: the ‘world’s fastest’ smartphone?

Mobile World Congress 2012 is in full swing this week and as the smartphone makers begin to step it up, Huawei has been showing that it can play hardball too. The Huawei Ascend D quad ups the stakes with what the company is claiming is the ‘world’s fastest’ smartphone.

Sony have indeed got rid of the ‘Ericsson’ bit of its name and here comes the newly named Xperia U formerly known as the Sony Kumquat. It also the first ever phone to launch with the new name. Its an Android one and comes with a 3.5-inch screen, a 5Mp snapper and video recording of up to 720p HD.

Nokia breaks history with its 41Mp smartphone camera on the 808 PureView!

Nokia have just shot up with the massive announcement that the 808 PureView will come with the one and only 41Mp camera, setting a new record beating the Nokia N8 which was the most advanced smartphone snapper on the market (not anymore for sure!)

HTC has stepped it up at MWC 2012 by unveiling the HTC One X – one of the most exciting Android phones to date. The HTC One X is both incredibly fast and slick. It has a quad-core 1.5GHz Tegra 3 processor, shoots full HD video and a whopping 32GB of of storage. Those are just some of the talents. Read on for the rest.

We all love the iPad and the next edition is certainly on its way soon being expected to arrive in Apple style at an event in San Francisco next month. Obviously, the release date to shops is being kept under wraps however if you remember the iPad 2 did pop up in to retailers just one week after it was unveiled so maybe we can expect the same thing to happen again for the iPad 3. Who knows?

Kodak to stop making digital cameras and camcorders

Sad times for fans of Kodak camera fans. The famous camera company has announced that it will soon stop making compact cameras or camcorders. The news comes after Kodak filed for bankruptcy last month. Kodak will instead focus on “more profitable growth opportunities.”

Sony have just announced that all PlayStation Network accounts will no longer be called the above and instead named Sony Entertainment accounts. The company have explained that the reason for this change is to simply put gaming with other entertainment and media services offered by the Japanese company.

Sky TV has revealed plans to launch a new internet TV service letting even those who do not subscribe to any of Sky’s many packages watch shows at any time. Users will be able to watch the shows from any device from the computer to the smartphone.
